The Eiffel Tower is 120 years old

The Eiffel Tower is a symbol of Paris. It took around two years to build and was opened to the public in 1889.
A number of exhibitions have been organised in the capital to celebrate the 120th birthday of the Eiffel Tower.
Paris Town Hall pays tribute to the man who designed and built the Tower, Gustave Eiffel, with the “Gustave Eiffel, iron magician” exhibition, which is open until 31 August 09 at 5 rue Lobau, Paris.
Also, the “Eiffel Tower story” exhibition is currently open on the 1st floor and staircases of the Eiffel Tower. It presents the Tower’s fabulous life over its 120 years of existence. Until 31 December 2009, you can see illustrated panels and animations, along with over 300 artists’ works inspired by the “Iron Lady”.
