André Kertész

Eiffel Tower, Paris, 1929

From 11 June to 11 September, the Martin-Gropius-Bau in Berlin is presenting a retrospective dedicated to the Hungarian photographer André Kertész.

It covers the major themes that marked his work – shadows, roofs and chimneys, melancholy –, the photos of his army life in the First World War and the Polaroids he took in New-York at the end of his life.
